Who we are

Kai-Zen Island Coaching LLC (operating as Kay Een LLC) is a one-person coaching practice based in Hawaiʻi. Kay Een holds an ICF-ACC credential issued by the International Coaching Federation and operates in accordance with the ICF Code of Ethics. Contact: kay@kai-zenislandcoaching.com.

This Privacy Policy applies to data collected through kai-zenislandcoaching.com, Find Your Bearings, The In-Between Insight tool, and any email communications with Kai-Zen Island Coaching LLC.

Coaching is not therapy

This site collects personal information from people navigating significant professional identity transitions. Coaching is not therapy, counseling, or mental health treatment, and Kay Een is not a licensed mental health provider. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline). Service scope and eligibility are described in the Terms & Conditions.

What data we collect

Find Your Bearings (free tool). We collect your email and the values you select. Your written reflections are used only to generate your card and are not stored. Generation runs through Netlify and Anthropic, and your card recap email and lead record are handled through our Client Hub (Google).

The In-Between Insight tool. We collect your first name and email; your LinkedIn URL (optional); your answers to the eleven intake questions; your consent and the date and time you gave it; and payment information (handled by Stripe, which never gives us your card number). If you use voice input to answer a question, your speech is transcribed by your browser's built-in speech service, and we receive only the resulting text.

When you book a coaching conversation, Google Calendar collects your name, email, and appointment time. When you email us, we keep your message. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13, and if you are under 18 you may use this site only with a parent or guardian's permission.

Newsletter (optional)

Both tools offer an optional newsletter signup. If you opt in, your email is added to Stand Up-Fall Down-Repeat, hosted by Substack, and you can unsubscribe any time. We add your email to Substack only if you opt in.

Website analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to understand how visitors find and move through this site. Plausible is a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service hosted in the European Union. It does not use cookies, does not collect or store personal information, and does not track you across other websites. It measures aggregate, non-identifiable data only, such as page views, the page that referred you, and general country, browser, device type, and operating system. No data Plausible collects can be used to identify you, and none of it is combined with the tool data described above.

AI-generated content disclosure

The In-Between Insight tool generates a personalized coaching brief using an artificial intelligence language model (Anthropic's Claude). Your answers to the eleven intake questions are sent to Anthropic's API to generate this brief. The resulting brief is a coaching reflection framework produced by AI based on your responses. It is not authored personally by Kay Een, is not a clinical assessment, diagnosis, or treatment plan, and does not constitute professional advice of any kind.

Your data is used solely to deliver the services you have requested:

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Anonymous, non-identifiable patterns from tool responses may be used to improve the tool over time. No personally identifiable information is included in those patterns.
