I'm Kay Een, ACC. I coach leaders and executives to lead with clarity and stay steady under pressure, in a way that's true to who they are. From the first supervisor role to the C-suite, and through the transitions that test it. This is where I work with people and organizations beyond the transition and identity coaching at the heart of Kai-Zen Island Coaching.
I coach leaders and executives to lead with presence, and stay well while they do it.
I spent more than three decades in service, 22 years as an NCIS Special Agent, finishing as Special Agent in Charge of the NCIS Hawaiʻi Field Office. Along the way I became an internal coach, helping people grow into leaders who stayed authentic to themselves, from new supervisors to senior executives. I trained at George Mason University in Coaching for Leadership and Organizational Well-Being, and I'm an ICF Associate Certified Coach. It's grounded in kaizen: small, repeatable change is what actually moves people.
One-to-one coaching for leaders your organization is investing in, from new supervisors to the C-suite. Presence, clarity, and decision-making under pressure. The same coaching spine, sponsored by the org.
Facilitated sessions for teams and units, and keynotes for your members. Communication, trust, and leading through change. Your group leaves with something they can use Monday, not a binder they file away.
Talks, panels, and podcast conversations for your members, on leadership, identity, and the reset after a mission-driven career. Told straight, from someone who has lived it.
A standing relationship where you point transitioning members toward coaching that speaks their language, or list it among the resources you offer, so the right person finds support at the right time.

Most people won't go looking for therapy. But they'll sit down with someone who names the hard question plainly and speaks their language. Coaching gives them the pause and the structure to hear themselves, sort what's worth carrying forward, and take the next honest step. Facilitative, not prescriptive. I don't hand people a playbook. I help them find the steady, honest next step and name it in their own words.
“She acted as a mirror that let me make the connections myself, drawing on my own knowledge, experience, and skills. She helped me identify my traits as a leader.”

I've run workshops and coaching with military units and a university, and spoken at national conferences for law enforcement and government employees.
